Sam the Samaritan Cat

A little cat went on his travels one day,
He was beaten and robbed and left in a terrible way.
Along came a rich cat but he would not help,
Even though he could hear the little cat yelp.
Along came a learned cat who was high up in the law,
But he closed his eyes and yawned.
And would not listen to the little cat cries:
Then along came the church cat who had no love,
He passed by to good heavens above.
Along came Sam who had little to his name,
But he helped the little cat just the same.
Sam had to dig deep in his pocket really deep,
To pay for the little cat's keep.
Until he could get around with a spring in his leap:
So in the end,
Which of these cats do you think was a real friend.
Of course it was Sam,
Who would help anyone stuck in a jam.
You see Sam knew today,
You should always treat others the way,
You would like them to treat you.
