Raindrops

How welcome are the raindrops
That sparkle in the sun
Falling from the tree tops
Dropping one by one
High among the mountain tops
Where they like to gather;
Filling streams among the rocks
To rush along together
Raindrops at their best in Spring
Come to us in showers
Happy gardeners see them bring
Refreshment for their flowers
How welcome are the raindrops
Upon the arid ground
To the farmers and their crops
And to everyone around
As raindrops freshen up the earth
They raise up our spirits too
Bringing happiness and mirth
As well as pastures new.
