But a careful watch for Santa I will keep;
From behind the curtains where I peep.
And everything is ready and waiting downstairs,
A glass of milk and fairy cakes made with care;
For Santa and his Reindeers to share.
I feel sleepy now but I begin to close my eyes,
I saw him coming over the rise.
Over the rooftops and on his way,
Beautiful Reindeers pulling the sleigh;
And Santa with his Ho, Ho, Ho in his merry play.
They have stopped now without a doubt,
And I can see them clearly as I look out;
So filled with joy I want to shout.
All those presents he is putting in that sack,
He can hardly carry it upon his back;
But will he get stuck in the chimney stack.
Well, I was just about to call out a warning,
When I found myself yawning;
And it was Christmas Day in the morning!
